This itinerary is built around variety, but it still needs order to work. Lima opens the route with urban history and colonial heritage. The second day shifts dramatically into the desert coast, where Paracas, Ballestas, Ica, and Huacachina create one of Peru’s strongest low-altitude adventure contrasts.
The route then moves into Cusco, where the historical and archaeological frame of the Andes begins. The Sacred Valley leads naturally toward Machu Picchu, and after that the trip continues into Puno and Lake Titicaca, where the atmosphere changes once again into the slower, wider world of the altiplano. The result is broad, but still coherent.
